Ryan hit the UK in 2003 when he joined friends in rock band Mann Friday and
they had a successful Edinburgh Fringe festival that year. They have now become a
household name to many on the London live circuit and enjoy sell out shows.

Ryan loves singing and does so many times a day, usually in the shower or walking
down the high street, whilst air-drumming to Scott Matthews, The Arcade Fire,
Stephen Fretwell, Radiohead, Muse, The Fray, Guillemots or Kings Of Leon, to name
but a mere few.
Ryan started music by plucking on a violin as a form-one (13yr old) pupil on the green
lawns outside the chapel at Prince Edward High School in his then home town, Harare.
His first violin tutor was a British exchange teacher called Roxana Saraby who
suggested he just keep the violin strung that way round, so that is why he plays
everything right-handed, despite being a lefty.

Ryan started playing the cello 2 years later (as he puts it - they fell in love) by teaching
himself using tutorial books in the Music room instead of going to Agriculture lessons
where they had to slaughter chickens and shovel top-soil!
He was then spotted at an Eisteddfod by the cello professor at the College of Music and
was awarded a scholarship by his school board, to study cello with Dimitar Kirilov, and
violin with Cabbie Stirling at the College of Music.

Guitars crashed into Ryan's life 5 years after that. He could take home a guitar whilst
teaching music at the International School in 2000, where he would have Pink Floyd
jams in the Music Room, and occasionally make cassette recordings of songs by a
friend with names like 'I Lost The War' played on guitar and cello.

Having been instrumental in building a great presence and profile for his band
Mann Friday, Ryan has finally made the decision to get his solo acoustic ideas going.
Now armed with his first solo demo titled 'The Demonstration EP', he is planning to
keep working on his bottleneck of material dating as far back as 2000 and to play
in every town/city/country he can get to!
