Review by Dan:

An impressive second album from the Kiwi quintet, containing an assortment of appealing, funky folk rock, for example “Don’t Wake Me Up” and “Run Run Run”, and elegant, alluring ballads, such as the romantic “Waltz”. Vocalist Kirsten Morelle’s enchanting voice encompasses a notable range of sounds, comparable to her compatriot Bic Runga in the reflective title track, and Kate Bush-esque in “Cool Pants”. The brooding “Trinkity Trink” is sung beautifully, as is “Four Minute Drive”, where the contribution from the melodic Morelle is laid gently over the top of some strutting guitars. The simple “Cold Mountainside” and the marauding “Emptied Out” call time on a thoroughly entertaining array of tunes.
