Version 2.0

Artist: Garbage

Album Released: May, 1998

Review by Dan:

As the title suggests, the second album from Scot Shirley Manson and her sidekicks from Wisconsin, and even though it was released back in 1998, Garbage's sound is modern and advanced. “I Think I’m Paranoid” is probably the best known song, the haunting guitars that overwhelm its chorus also make an appearance in “Push It”. I also enjoyed the techno-electronic, pulsating “Hammering in my Head”. In “Special”, whilst sounding similar to The Pretender’s Chrissie Hynde, Manson asks ‘Do you have an opinion? A mind of your own?’ – although not as good as their awesome debut, Garbage's interpretation of rock music certainly proves that they have a mind of their own.
